The Partners of the Firm are Bradley Walter
Callender and
Sean Bradley Callender, who have been in practice since August 1969
and December 1994 respectively, Sean being the fourth generation of
Callenders to be called to the Bahamas Bar.
Bradley W. Callender

Mr. Callender was born on January 19, 1944 in
Nassau to the late W.E.A. Callender, Q.C., and Claudine Callender. Mr.
Callender’s primary education was St. Francis Xavier School in Nassau
and at Davies Tutorial College in London, England before entering
Seaford College, a private High School situate in Sussex, England.
Mr. Callender returned to the Bahamas in 1963
and entered into Articles of Clerkship with W.E.A. Callender, in the
then Firm of Callender & Callender. Following Articles of Clerkship, Mr.
Callender attended the College of Law in London, England from 1967 to
1969 before returning to the Bahamas to sit the Bahamas Bar Examinations
and was called to the Bahamas Bar on 1st August, 1969.
Mr. Callender represents one of the third
generation of Callenders to have been admitted to the Bahamas Bar,
following his grandfather, the late W.E.S. Callender, K.C. who commenced
his practice in the Bahamas in or about the year 1901, and his father,
the late W.E.A. Callender, Q.C., who commenced his practice during the
year 1939.
During his thirty-seven years of practice, Mr. Callender
has gained a wealth of experience primarily on the commercial side of
the profession, specializing in all aspects of real estate matters,
including title investigations, drafting of commercial documents
required in real estate transactions, attending to applications to
various Government Ministries on behalf of foreign investors, and acting
generally on behalf of clients in the creation of mega resort and large
residential community style developments.
Mr. Callender is now in private practice with
his son, Sean B. Callender who represents the fourth generation of
Callenders to be called to the Bahamas Bar. Mr. Callender is a member of
the Rotary Club of Grand Bahama, Sunrise and his hobbies include
fishing, hunting and gardening. Mr. Callender is married to Addie
Callender and in addition to their eldest son, Sean, they have two
children, Stephan and Megan.
Sean Bradley Callender

Mr. Callender was born on November 6, 1970, and
is a first fourth generation of lawyers in the Bahamas in general and in
the Callender family in particular who have practiced in the Bahamas
since 1901. . He was educated in St. Andrew’s School in Nassau, Bahamas,
St. Andrew’s College in Ontario, Canada where he was presented with the
Ontario Scholar Award and studied law at The University of Kent at
Canterbury in Kent, England. Mr. Callender is a member in good standing
of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, London England and after
sitting his Bar Examinations, was called to the Degree of Utter
Barrister at Lincoln’s Inn on November 24, 1994. On December 16, 2004,
Mr. Callender was enrolled as a counsel and attorney of the Bar of the
Commonwealth of The Bahamas and joined the firm of Callenders & Co in
Nassau in1994.
Mr. Callenders’ initial legal interests were
primarily in the Corporate/Conveyancing practice from which he sought
expert guidance from his father and partner for his formative years as a
legal practitioner. In 1996 Mr. Callender craved a broader appreciation
of the practice of law and relocated to Callenders & Co in Freeport
where he practiced civil litigation for the next six years. During this
time Mr. Callender participated in many trials in actions involving
personal injuries, contract and employment disputes, matrimonial
proceedings, proceedings brought against the Crown involving false
imprisonment and matters pertaining to the Constitution of The Bahamas
in which Mr. Callender set a legal precedent. Throughout his time at
Callenders & Co., Mr. Callender maintained his practice in the
commercial and conveyancing fields. In 2002 he decided to focus his
efforts exclusively on these areas of the practice and with his partner,
resigned from Callenders & Co. and formed Sean B Callender & Co.
With extensive experience in the practice of
Commercial and Conveyancing Law and Civil Litigation Mr. Callender
offers to his clients the broad spectrum of legal services.
Mr. Callender is the son of Addie and Bradley W.
Callender, his partner in the firm and is an avid boatsman, and pilot.
Mr. Callender also enjoys traveling and exploration.
